Well, after some hunting down, I was able to get a new laptop. I chose the Acer Aspire 5112 WLMi. Fairly sweet specs on this model that I picked up from Tigerdirect.ca:

I'll have the free upgrade to Vista too... I have to find the silver lining here since I'll be starting all my songs off from scratch! I've basically reinstalled everything and I'll be getting ready to record again soon...
